Anyone ever surf in Puerto Rico?
I'm considering going there in April, with some people from my search & rescue team, for a rescue seminar. They're planning to take a few extra days before and after the seminar (it's a week long course) to explore some canyons and caves in the area.
I'd like to go along, but to complicate matters I'd like to try to sneak in a surf session or two while I'm there. Anyone have recommendations for the best beaches/breaks for a beginner/intermediate surfer?
I probably won't bring a board, so I'll have to rent, which might restrict me to the touristy areas. I'm just starting to do some research online via surfline and google, but thought I would see if anyone here had any tips.
We'll be staying in San Sebastian for the week of the seminar(4/15 - 4/23). Not sure what the itinerary is apart from that, but I might have to go it alone for a day or two if I want to surf, as the rest of the group's agenda is all canyons and caves. I'm the only surfer in the group...
