We're back but damn we are missing Oahu big time. Went out for a surf this morning in the rain and it was cool to be out with friends but damn the conditions were so bad lol. Anyway wanted to share the home video - definitely watch it in 1080p if you can ...

So that's where the sun went. We're gonna lose our "sunny so cal" status if this keeps up.

I’ve gotta say the weather was perfect in Oahu compared to when we went last August. The days were hot but perfect for spending time in the water. The nights were not humid at all but warm enough to wear shorts and a t-shirt especially with a slight breeze now and then.

I will add that the vibe though has come down. Even some friends of ours that were there the week before confirmed some bad vibe stories out in the lineup. Just locals giving shit nothing more than that. I theorize that the economy there has been hit so hard that unemployment is through the roof making for some less than happy locals in the lineup especially towards tourists.

Hardly enough to ruin a vacation though.

Happy to hear that you and Rosa enjoyed your trip to Oahu and that you didn't suffer any reef cuts this time. I enjoyed watching your video the other day and couldn't help gasping at how crowded the lineup was at Queen's/Canoes. It seems like the number of surfers in the water tripled since we went out there last, 2 years ago!

We had a great time in Maui. Like you said, it was perfect weather and, unlike our last Maui trip, not too windy. Spent most of our time swimming, snorkeling and hiking and surfed Lahaina breakwall, Thousand Peaks and Laniopoko. The surf was small, but big enough to catch on our longboards. The waves there reminded me of San O waves...real soft, slow & mushy but fun to cruise along. The locals in the lineup were pretty mellow.
