"Shops for repairs only"

Nov 10 09, 10:56 am

I want to know what shops did good work?
What type of repair or repairs were done?
How long they took to fix it?
How much did it cost?

The reason I ask is mine is going on week 6 in the shop :? :Q :(
I will fill out all the above when I get it back. I just don't want to wait this long again.
This will help many of us when we need repairs too.
Good thing GSI let me have a loaner board. I would have gone nuts by now.
Going to look into another board soon, I need a quiver I guess :D

Aquatech Glassing
4065 Glencoe Ave
Marina Del Rey, CA 90292

I took my funboard there when I landed on a fin with my leg and pulled out the whole plug. They were backed up with late Summer traffic according to them, but it still only took 5 days to get the repair done. It was done properly, the fin plug went back in same position it was in before, everything was flush. I've heard bad things about them from other people, but they're the only repair shop I know of in my neighborhood, and they did my repair well. I think they charged me $45 for the job.

Have you called the shop about your board? Maybe they already finished it and forgot to call you, or lost your contact info.

Well I usually take all my repairs to Mark Brog in Redondo Beach......that is where I buy all my stuff and he usually gets my repairs back in about a week. If you are looking for a repair only shop try Whitstik in Gardena.....I have heard nothing but good about him and I jsut dropped a board off for some pretty serious repair yesterday. I'll let you know the results when I get it back....he told me probably Monday. I think 6 weeks is way way way too long!!!! it doesnt even take that long to shape a whole new board.

Not looking for repair shops only, just wanted a thread of ANY shops where things go well for repairs.
Yea I know...after 6 weeks or more :| my board will feel new again LOL! I went by there a week ago they sent it out to another place for the repair. They said if no call then its not ready :? Was told about two weeks but you know... I must be a magnet for this kind of stuff. Just another freak thing?LMAO!

HA HA HA ,, :D ,, nice that was funny !!!!!!!! When I was not at work then board work flew outta here. Now that I'm back at work yep ya can indeed as it seems put me down on that there list, great work but ball ache slow at times.( right Dave),,, (Han you don't coun't you got stoked up with a mass freebie)

Bad work? NO not even close!! I have chalenge some so called "board profesionaly repaired" repair guys to a head to head and only hear crickets chirping in response and don't see any show ups. As in time well,,,,,,, I don't getta spend 9hrs a day 5 days a week on em anymore :< :( . Heck I'm seeming to be lucky if I getta spend 2 weekends a month on em now :/ :/ .So I guess I'm more like board repair reserve officer serving duty. Ya know two weekends a month and one month a year type of thing.

But I'll give ya that one hodad that was hella funny :D brudda,,,, hella funny. :D

Oh yea I do however offer others to come and see how it's done as well as hands on do it themselves here when I am doing it so others can learn.for the ones that know how bring it on over and do it yourself then just follow the rules and all is cool. How much faster can ya get done than doing it yourself?

Feed a person fish and fill their belly once or teach them to fish so their belly can be full all the time,,, that's what I say.

What :O !!!! wait a friggin second here did I not just give an important reason and excuse to get more surf boards ? !!!!! the bill for my gifted "reason to get more" service should be in your mailbox soon :$ ,, ha ha ha .....
