City, State/Province: Malibu, CA
(34.052419,-118.961927)
Break Type: Point Break
Break Direction: Right
Ideal Conditions:
This place catches most any swell. It's sort of like the San O of North L.A. county. I think it's best during summer S/SW swells. Not as susceptible to extreme tides as other spots.
There is a point on the north end of the beach that pumps out clean rights well into the beach break. The beach break itself can be a little varied from mushy to absolutely pitching. On huge days, way out on the south side of the beach closer to Staircases, is a break called "Bombardos." I've seen it break before but never really wanted to paddle out that far.
Getting There & Parking:
Take the 1 all the way to ... wait for it ... Ventura County Line!! haha
Parking should still be free along the road. Be careful parking on the other side of the road away from the beach and crossing since cars and Harleys come screaming down PCH.
Look Out For:
County can get really crowded during the summer. Not as bad as say the 'bu but still pretty crowded. I would think the water quality is actually pretty good compared to other spots closer to L.A. since it's so far from civilization.
Nearby Amenities:
No strip malls here and the closest Starbucks is a ways away. But there is Neptune's Net which is a sort of bikers hangout. You might recognize it from the scene in Point Break where what's his face was picking up on the chick. Anyway the place has been there forever. There are porta potties in the parking lot on the north side.

parking is free...always crowded..rights and lefts, right off the point, lefts out the back of the point, lefts/rights in the bay/beach break, depends on swell direction...breaks best on s/sw will pick up any west and even some north...County will have waves, if there are any.
watch the pack on the point...sort of a local thing trying to happen some days. Surf the bay if you are a beginner.

Thought id Give you all my knollage abought county line.
County line likes a medium tide and a w, sw, s,sse swell.
Best size is wast high to duble over head
bottlm is combanation of sand and rock
fun clean pop up right peaks off the northern point but some short lefts.
best in winter 2 to 10 feet.
the beach break
smoth beach break 1/2 mile south of the point outer reff produces concistant peaks with a slow two way sholder with a sand bottom.
Bombora 1/4/ mile out vertical drops that flaten out in deep merly water not worth the efert for only a drop and needs hidge swell to break.
Just south of that a mile or so is staircase thisck shifting peaks 2 to 8 feet mellow an uncrowded any swell..
