TS Outing July 17th Bolsa Chica

Not the best of conditions this morning at Bolsa ... well ok, it sucked ass lol. And goddamn stingrays everywhere! LongBoarderDave got hit by one particularly pissed off stingray that managed to get him on the TOP side of his foot.

Still, good times ... nice hanging with some of the regulars and meeting some new folks. Great to meet you Dave! Always cool hanging out with the Seal Beach crew.

Good to see all of you today! Yeah, the waves went from bad to worse, but it was still a fun time.

Glad to hear LBD finally came back from the lifeguard HQ. That sounds like a gnarly sting, hope you're okay!

haha it was just a small cut.. just happened to catch me right on a tendant and probably a vein or something.. haha. It was a lot of blood.

It was great seeing those of you that I got to see and the new folks I got to meet. It was a great day to be out in the sun. Wish the circumstances could've gone a little better but oh well.. that'll teach me for walking when I should be paddling.. haha.

Woah. That is one swollen foot! Man, I usually feel pretty safe at bolsa, but I think I'll be paddling a lot more now....
Walking out over the inside sandbar at low tide at Sunset is going to be a lot scarier now XD

It wasnt the sandbar in the middle that got me.. it was the deeper channel AFTER the sandbar.. After I had already been walking.. I was too lazy to jump back up on my board to paddle more.. Needless to say.. I ended up jumping back on the board very quickly anyways. But it was too late.

great meeting you all yesterday! even if it was only brief as jason and i succumbed to southerly drift. we ended up 3 towers down haha. guess jason' s like his dad -- too lazy to paddle. will have to do again soon and hopefully be able to hang out longer.

dave, hope ur recovery is quick. i think we forgot to warn you that bolsa/sunset is like a stingray breeding farm. there's gotta be more of them out there lie in the shuffle zone than there are surfers on a weekend.
