Zippi Fish

I am zeroing in on a Zippi Fish as my short board.

Does anyone here have any experience with one of these. I keep reading great things about them on the web!

And they do look KEWL.

I think hyuuj has ones. Seems like I remember pictures. Zippi has a good reputation, I've only heard good things about him and his boards.

Yeah, I love mine. I was able to go a bit shorter than I thought due to how thick and wide he makes them. It's a 5'11" and it paddles easy and glides over flat spots. The only issue I have with it is that it's a little difficult to dive deep enough to get under bigger waves. That's likely just a matter of the user's skill, though!

Aside from that, Zippi's a really nice guy, and will let you try out boards for a few days at a time. If you do decide to get one shaped by him, I would suggest taking a trip down here so you can take advantage of the loaner boards. He lives down in Redondo.

Hyuuj- hey man how tall are you and what do you weigh? Can you give me the width and thickness of your Zippi?

I'm 5'10"/165. I actually don't know the width and thickness of mine. He doesn't put it on the boards, and I didn't ask since he just kept handing me boards to try until I found one I liked. If I had to guess, I would say my 5'11" is 21" wide and 2.75" thick (maybe thicker, it's a friggin' boat for the length). Like I said before, I would strongly suggest trying out the boards yourself rather than going by measurement.

I would if I could but I live in Oregon and there are Zippo Zippi's in Oregon!
I would have to have one shipped to me. I may get to Southern Cal on a Surf trip this summer tho.
