No question too barney.

Ok, so I'm still new to this whole game. I used to live on the East Coast, so I never saw a problem going in the ocean after a rain storm. Heck, I've gone swimming during the rain storms. Those were always the best times!
Anyways, my question is, how long do I have to wait after the rain storm to go back in the water? A day? 2 days? I really wanna get out there, but seems like lately it's always raining or just after a rain storm.

Officially you're supposed to wait 72 hours (3 days) ... personally, I think a day is safe enough. Others might argue though.

I checked out Seal on surfline today after work and there were over 20 guys in the water. I guess they think it's ok as well...

I was hoping you would say a day. Though, I'd be happier if I didn't have to wait any days at all.

Rob it is unfair to lure others into the drink too early (one day sheesh) just because you have three arms

dose not make it O.K. to fool others and they too will sprout new limbs so you won't look so different...

.
It kinda depends on the amount of rainfall. this last storm would be kinda the first good rain and it will wash down allot of new ??

?? junk out into the drink. So I says under intense rain and for the first few good rains it would be best to wait a bit just for safety sake,, or one could end up like Rob

......
24 to 72 hrs and one would be wise to look at water quality reports before venturing out or you could choke on a diaper and flip flop like I did......

^ Good advice ... although I think you're mistaking my third nipple. A third arm would be way too cool. Imagine the productivity gains.

^^ more importantly.. imagine the paddle strength gains. He'd be catching everything.

I’m not sure how that would work out though ... if the arm grew out of my chest, I wouldn’t even be able to lie down and paddle. If it grew out from the side, then my paddling would be off kilter like trying to pull off a V-7. If it came out my back, well that would just be wierd.

LOL. Maybe he has 2 extra arms!
Ok, so that leads me to my second question. Is it ok to surf while it rains?

No - for the same reasons. Although I must say there is nothing like being out there and hearing the rain pitter patter against the water. It's surreal.
