Moving to LB/north OC!!!

Hey all,
I thought that I should let you know that I accepted a job at Boeing in Long Beach and will be moving down to the area in a month or so (pending background check). You may have seen my Facebook post but I thought that I should give you more information about what I am looking for. I traveled down to the area yesterday and fell in love with Seal Beach. I like the small town feel, proximity to work and to the surf. However, it is harder to find rentals there, especially w/o a roommate (I do not want to live with a random person). Other areas I like include Bolsa Chica in HB and Belmont Shores/Heights in LB. The first area is closer to the surf but 25-30 mins from work (by Google Maps), with the second a little closer to work (15-20 mins, but with no surf). I am open to any other areas in LB that are safe and relatively walkable. This is what I am looking for in an apartment:

- At least one bedroom/one bath
- Decently sized kitchen (I like to cook)
- Storage for my surfboard (I don't want it to be a pain to take out every time)
- Maximum rent of $1500 (preferably $1300-$1400 or less)
- Laundry nearby (on site or in room preferred)
- A walkable (relative to TO/South OC suburbia) neighborhood
- 30 mins max commute to work (preferably on surface streets, as the 405 is terrible)

If you know of any people with places to rent, areas I should look into, or people that need roommates around LB/north OC, please let me know. The faster you guys help me find a place, the quicker I will be able to come surf with y'all.

Wanted to update you all and let you know that I signed a lease for a place in Seal Beach a block from the beach on 1st street. I will start my job on August 6 and will move in between August 1 and 15. So stoked to move down to the area and surf with you all.

I'd recommend Sunset though. Not sure if everyone will dig Seal and avoid parking fees at Bolsa.

Hey guys sorry for the late response. I am still trying to figure out when I will get to move into my new place (hopefully it won't be that weekend). I may have to move into temporary housing (I start work the Monday after the meetup) but I should have my surfboard with me. Sunset sounds great btw!
